Darryll received his California State Real Estate License in 1975, and his Broker's License in 1979. He was admitted to practice Law in the State of California by the State Bar Association in 1988. Between 1975 and 1988 Darryll worked at Californa Realty for 4 years and then went on to own and manage his own Real Estate company, The Property Exchange. During that time he helped to develop several Redding subdivisions and worked with local contractors in housing construction. He also has experience in Commercial Real Estate. After becoming an attorney, Darryll worked in Business Reorganization and Debt Relief Law. He was the 1978 President of Redding's Jaycee's, and President of the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce in 1982. From 1979 to 1994, Darryll served as Co-Chair and Host of the Redding Muscular Dystrophy Telethon; He is currently on the Board of Directors for Connecting to Care, a non-profit Telehealth service organization. Darryll has recently served as President of the Riverfront Playhouse, a Community Theater, a non-profit public benefit organization, and currently serves as its Secretary. Darryll's heart for the Redding community has led him to serve on many other non-profit and civic committees. Darryll is still an actively working attorney.
Darryll is married to Ronda Alvey, Editor-in-Chief of Enjoy Magazine in Redding. Darryll has two adult children, Ronda has four adult children and six grandchildren. They enjoy their blended family and visit each and all of them whenever they can. In his spare time, Darryll enjoys stage and film acting, traveling, golfing and visiting their second home in Humboldt County with Ronda, where they enjoy the beach and all of the Redwood forest sites.
